Groundworks Services in Detail
Strip & Trench-Fill Foundations
Strip foundations use a wider, shallower concrete strip. Trench-fill uses a narrower, deeper trench filled with concrete to near ground level. Trench-fill is faster and preferred in Chesterfield's clay soils where deeper foundations are needed (typically 1m+ to reach stable ground below the zone of seasonal moisture variation).
Piled Foundations
Where ground conditions are poor — former mining areas, filled ground, or deep soft strata — piled foundations transfer building loads to stable ground below. We coordinate with specialist piling contractors and design pile caps and ground beams to our structural engineer's specification.
Underpinning

Drainage Systems
